How I made the stand for my vlog camera

Do you have a hand held camera? Dose it lack a tripod mount? I have a Kodak mini HD pocket camcorder and it doesn’t have a place to mount it to my tripod, so I decided to do something about it. Unlike other videos I didn’t go buy a tripod and give my camera a mount…instead I used materials from around the house to make a stand from it.
All I used was Popsicle sticks, a hot glue gun, and a 2 liter soda bottle.
Want to know how I made it? Just watch the video.
I have discovered 2 down sides to this stand and they are as follows:
1) It makes the stand top heavy, so to fix this I’m just going to put water inside the bottle so its full again.
2) The way this particular camera is set up, once the camera is in the stand you can’t access the power and menu buttons. Since I edit my videos it doesn’t bother me, but if you had a saw you could cut the Popsicle sticks to avoid the buttons being covered.
You can alter this to work with any camera you might have, but remember to keep the lens, mic, and speakers uncovered to avoid loss of quality.
This is my first attempt at a prototype, and it is unpainted in this video, I’m sure in the future I will paint it.
